Lock 27 Pump House - Leighton Buzzard - March 2014
A very quiet building on the side of the Grand Union Canal. I read by a member
on 28 DL that "Lock 27 had 2 ponds either side which could hold a lock full of
water, The rise is 8.1ft for this lock which is fairly high for a single lock.
Maybe the pumps were for using/filling water in the ponds which would speed up
lock operation or allow for a bit extra in drought/low river situations".
That's about all that anyone seems to know about the place. The black and white
ones are film and the rest are digital.
